PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will today lead discussions on the regional threat posed by the sect known as ISIS in a meeting to be held between Caricom leaders and US President Barack Obama in Jamaica.
Three main items are on the agenda for the meeting with the US President. Obama is to raise the issue of energy security, Bahamas will raise trade competitiveness and Trinidad and Tobago will raise security, Persad-Bissessar told Newsday yesterday, speaking from Jamaica.
“I will lead off on the issue of security in the region, a matter which will certainly include the threat posed by ISIS,” the Prime Minister said. “President Obama’s main item on the agenda is the issue of energy security in the region, particularly the need to develop policies and strategies to deal with energy issues.”
