Trinidad Muslims in Haiti to begin construction of orphanage, hospital and shelter

A building team of seven Trinidad Muslims lead by Shazim Ali are in Haiti to construct three facilities to provide relief for Haitians.

The building team would erect the following:
1. A facility to house 70 families.  An existing shelter across the street from the Al Fatiha Masjid has been airmarked for this project.  Since they have bathroom and washroom facilities with running water.
2. A facility to house some Orphan Children.  Location would be in one of the Countryside Villages.
3. A facility to be used as a Hospital for a Team of Canadian Doctors.

All the facilities would be constructed with wood and galvanize.  These building projects in two weeks.  This will be the first NGO out of 500 NGO’s in Haiti that would embark on any building project. Three containers of construction materials have arrived from Trinidad.  Arrangements have been made for storage and distribution at the Pakistani military camp in the UN Compound in Port-au-Prince of another two containers with food, water, medicine, tents and clothes
