Jan 13th, 2013: Long serving Executive Member of Trinidad and Tobago’s Muslim Representative body the Anjuman Sunnatul Jamaat Association (ASJA) Haji Kamal Hosein passed away this morning. His funeral is being held today. Haji Kamal succumbed to a kidney ailment.

Haji Kamal served on the National Executive of ASJA for more than three decades in many capacities, Public Relations Officer, General Secretary, Vice-President and acting President. His quiet demeanor veiled his activism and considered contribution to the Muslim Community in particular and the people of Trinidad and Tobago in general. Haji Hosein was a retired Customs Officer.

His passing will be a loss to the Muslim Community. From God we come and to Him is our return. The National Executive of ASJA, its membership offer their full support and condolences to Haji Kamal’s family and friends.

Dr. Nasser Mustapha, President of Trinidad Muslim League(TML) extended his condolences to Haji Kamal Hosein family and members of the ASJA on his passing on behalf of himself and the TML.
