Book: Historic Mosques of Bridgetown, Barbados

Co-author Suleiman Bulbulia shared insights with the audience at the Daphne Joseph-Hackett Theatre, explaining that the book, Historic Mosques of Bridgetown, Barbados. He said, “What this book represents is not just about two buildings that inhabit Bridgetown. It is about a people that came from thousands of miles away in search of better economic freedom and a better life.  And when they came they saw Barbados not as a temporary place of abode. They loved Barbados and they stayed in Barbados. And when they stayed in Barbados, they built two places of worship around the same time. And they did not just build it as temporary structures (thinking they would just be there and going back). They built it as permanent structures.”

Recently, co-authors Sabir Nakhuda and Suleiman sat with Journalist Nazim Baksh to discuss the book. You can view the discussion here.
