A broad coalition of Trinidad and Tobago’s leading Muslim organisations has issued a respectful but firm open letter to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, urging her Government to reconsider any expansion of diplomatic, commercial, or security relations with the State of Israel while the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues.
The relevance is that the world we live in today has been shaped by forces that have been many years in the making, and the system is extremely powerful and well entrenched. Most people don’t understand the historical background to the problems faced by societies and nations worldwide.
