Are We Intimidated, Deluded, or Distracted in a Manufactured World?

A Disturbing Question for Our Time

Are we human beings intimidated, deluded or simply distracted? What is going on in the world today is neither coincidental nor by chance; it is all by design, and it is best we pay attention, understand what is taking place and prepare ourselves accordingly.

Power Without Humanity

A country with the most sophisticated weaponry the world has ever known is ruled by a man and supported by men and women who clearly have zero consideration for international laws, rules, human rights, zero empathy for humanity, and a racial superiority complex. This country is fully supportive of another country that behaves in a similar manner with the ‘God-given’ right supremacy philosophy.

A Troubling Question in an Advanced Age

How have we as a world got to this point in the most technologically advanced century of our existence? Arguably, nothing new, colonialization and racial hegemony have always raised their ugly and evil heads. What makes this era most worrisome is that, unlike the past, technology today allows these perpetrators of evil to spin their deception disguised as information with the ease of a touch of a button, and the use of AI to wage war on their manufactured enemies.

War Narratives and Manufactured Enemies

The Trump administration changed the Department of Defense to the Department of War, and since then, it has initiated and supported several wars in which thousands of innocent humans, many children, have been killed or maimed. The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, is tattooed with the Crusader’s cross and the Arabic word Kafir (disbeliever). He quotes the Bible and states clearly, “No quarter, no mercy for our enemies”. ‘Enemies’ they construct in the imagination of the world. The 2005 movie ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ gives stunning insight into the depraved mindset of the Crusaders. But Malcolm X said it best, “If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing”. Today, it is not only the media we have to be careful of.

Impunity in the Face of International Law

Israel’s leaders have arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity, yet they travel the Western world with impunity and continue their evil deeds without sanction. The latest, not seen in any country since Nazi Germany, is the enactment of a law that applies the death penalty in apartheid-like Israeli courts to Palestinians only. A penalty given by “God’s-chosen people” for the oppressed and dispossessed.

Rewriting History, Ignoring Accountability

Ghana’s recent success in leading the resolution at the UN declaring the transatlantic slave trade and racialized chattel enslavement of Africans as the “gravest crime against humanity” speaks volumes, not only for those who supported but also as a powerful indictment for those who didn’t, namely the US and Israel.

Religion, Power, and Dangerous Narratives

Paula White-Cain, Senior Advisor to the White House Faith Office, very recently compared Trump to Jesus. I shudder, and the Bible verse comes to mind: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves”.

I end as I began, are we human beings intimidated, deluded or simply distracted?
