On the 21st day of April 1950, the League was incorporated by Act of Parliament as No. 26 of 1950, to represent the Ghair-Mukallid (Non-conformist) Muslims of Trinidad & Tobago. A Ghair-Mukallid (non-conformist) Muslim is one who does not wholly and totally accept the doctrines and rulings of any ONE of the four recognized Imams of Islam: namely: Abu Hanifah. Malik.
